How we measure
Ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Google the questions your buyers ask, a few times each, and count how often each one names you.
The 5 engines
ChatGPT, as a signed-out visitor sees it, with web search on. The Google AI Overview, on a mobile search. Perplexity (sonar), Claude (Haiku 4.5) and Gemini (2.5 Flash), each with web search on.
We reach all 5 through DataForSEO, a data provider. It returns each answer with the sources it linked. You see the engine and model beside every count.
Named, linked, found
- Named: your business name is in the answer text.
- If your website is 1 of the sources the answer linked, you were linked.
- Found in its search: the engine searched your site but did not link it. The other 3 engines do not show this; ChatGPT and Google do.
On 2 October 2026 Perplexity linked appealsdesk 3 times on 1 question and named it 0 times. These are 2 counts, never 1.
Why 3 asks per question
The same question gets a different answer from one ask to the next. 1 ask can flatter you or bury you. That is why each count says how many asks it is out of.
What we never claim
We never claim a ranking, a promise that a fix moves a count, or a figure from someone else's study. The only evidence is the before and after on the same 10 questions.
